How to Help!

Shop online through the GLRS shop and these retailers and a portion of the sale will go to GLRS!

Volunteer!
Great Lakes Rabbit Sanctuary is dependent upon our hard-working, committed volunteers to keep operating. We simply could not continue without this volunteer help, and always need more people to give their time to help care for the animals. Tell me more!

Become a Sanctuary Sustainer!
Sanctuary Sustainers are the backbone of the sanctuary. By pledging to make a monetary donation every month (as little as $5 will help!) Sanctuary Sustainers ensure that the rabbits will always have a safe haven from abuse, abandonment and neglect.

Sponsor an animal!
Sponsors provide the cost of caring for their "foster" animal, one of our residents at the sanctuary, and ensure that we are able to continue to provide a home for animals in need.

Employment
Though GLRS continues to depend on the hard work of our volunteers to care for the rabbits, there are also opportunities for full and part-time work. As the sanctuary has grown, GLRS has found that a combination of volunteers and paid staff best meets the needs of the over 700 animals now in our care. If you are intrested in employment with GLRS please fill out our online employment application.

Gift Brick Program
In August of 2006, Great Lakes Rabbit Sanctuary saw a dream come true. We purchased, on land contract, the property on which the sanctuary is located. This was a wonderful event for the staff, volunteers, and most importantly, the animals. However, this now means GLRS has a mortgage in addition to other bills. Please help the rabbits keep their home by purchasing an engraved “gift” brick.  These beautiful bricks will be laid at the sanctuary as a patio adjacent to one of the barns -- and every visitor to Great Lakes Rabbit Sanctuary will see it and learn how your generosity made the dream of a permanent home for GLRS a reality. All proceeds from the sale of bricks will go into our Property Acquisition Fund and all donations are tax-deductible. Download Gift Brick order form (pdf document).

One Time Donation
Want to help but just can't pledge monthly contributions right now? Make a one-time donation! Every donation helps us rescue and care for needy animals, no matter how small. Your donation will be very much appreciated by the rabbits and other animals, and all the volunteers who take care of them. Donate now
