Great Lakes Rabbit Sanctuary provides a safe haven to abandoned, abused, and neglected domestic rabbits with the goal of adopting them out to loving homes. Those rabbits who are not eligible for adoption, due to either health or temperament, live out their lives peacefully at the sanctuary. We also strive to educate the public regarding the joys of having a house rabbit, rabbit behavior and health, as well as the importance of proper diet and care.

Visiting the Sanctuary: Please note, tours by appointment have concluded for 2012 and will resume in the spring. We hope to see you then! We welcome visitors and are very excited to share the wonders of the sanctuary, however, we are not open to the public on a daily basis. Tours are available by appointment during the spring, summer, and early fall. Please email us at info@rabbitsanctuary.org at least 48 hours in advance to schedule a visit. To help us continue providing a safe haven for the animals, we request a donation of $5.00 per person for tours of the sanctuary.
Are you participating in our Recycling Program fundraiser? For those of you who have participated in our toner/cell phone recycling fundraiser program, many thumps of thanks! You've helped us raise money for the animals of GLRS. The company we use for this program has changed their policy, the pre-printed shipping labels are no longer valid, and they also now require that we ship 25lbs or more at a time. They will send us a shipping label as needed directly to the sanctuary. Moving forward all items for recycling should be brought to the sanctuary where we will sort and organize them, then request a label once we have at least 25lbs to ship. The rabbits made $2,930 in 2012 just from our supporters doing their weekly grocery shopping!! Almost $3,000!! So please enroll those Kroger Plus cards!! |
